What is Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma according to Mesolink.org is one of the deadliest preventable diseases known to man. It is caused by breathing in asbestos particles, which become airborne as asbestos degrades. When it gets into the lungs, it eventually will cause havoc on the body.
Asbestos is a mineral that in the past was added to materials to Strengthen them and to provide heat insulation and fire resistance. Asbestos was commonly used in many industries and shipyards for years. Dads worked in factories for 30 years, breathed it while working, then came home with it on their clothes infecting mom, who had to breath it when she did the laundry. An occasional amount of contact with asbestos is not going to cause cancer, it is when a person is continually exposed to it over an extended period(years) of time that they become seriously at risk for developing symptoms of the disease 20 to 30 years after exposure.
